A New Name, Doing It the Right Way From Day One
Anto Roof Replacement & Repair is a locally owned roofing company based in downtown Valparaiso at 3 E Lincolnway. We started this business to give Northwest Indiana homeowners something the after-storm rush of out-of-town crews rarely offers: a roofer who documents the work, explains the recommendation, stands behind the warranty, and is still in Porter County next year.
We’re new — and we’re honest about that. Rather than borrow credibility we haven’t earned, we build it one roof at a time: dated photos, written line-item scopes, manufacturer-spec installation, and a follow-up on every job. The biggest advantage of a fresh start is that our name, address, and phone number are consistent everywhere from day one, so you always know exactly who you’re dealing with.
What “Storm-Ready” Actually Means Here
Golf-ball hail fell across Valparaiso on May 7, 2024, tornado-warned squall lines cross the county most storm seasons, and derecho winds have topped 80 mph in recent years — all per National Weather Service Chicago warnings. We build and inspect for that reality: ice-and-water shield at the eaves for our ice-dam winters, balanced ridge ventilation, and flashing details that hold when the wind gets serious.
Our Promise to Every Porter County Homeowner
We treat your property like a neighbor’s — because in Valparaiso, you probably are one. That means we protect your landscaping, roll magnets across the yard for stray nails, and walk the finished roof with you before we call the job done. It means we tell you when a repair is the smart money instead of pushing a replacement you don’t need, and it means the price we write down is the price you pay unless we find concealed decking damage — which we photograph and get approved before we ever cover it.
When a storm rolls through, we answer the phone at 2 a.m., document the damage the way an adjuster needs to see it, and stand between you and the out-of-town crews who disappear after the checks clear. We’re building something here for the long haul, and every roof is part of that reputation.

How We Work
The Standards We Hold Ourselves To
Documentation First
Photos, written scopes, and dated records on every job — the same evidence your insurer needs and the same proof you deserve.
Honest Credentials
Indiana has no state roofing license, so we don’t pretend to hold one. We carry insurance and registration and show proof — and we pursue manufacturer certifications the right way.
Built for Our Weather
Hail, derecho wind, lake-effect snow, and freeze-thaw shape every material and detail we recommend.
Right Fix, Not Biggest Fix
A repair when a repair is right; a replacement when the roof has earned it. We show you the photos either way.
Start to Finish
How a Roofing Job Actually Goes With Anto
No mystery, no runaround. Here’s the whole arc of a typical project — the same way we’d explain it standing in your driveway.
The first call or form
You tell us what the roof is doing. For an active leak or storm damage we treat it as urgent and talk through containment right away; for a planned project we set a time that works for you. Either way, the inspection is free.
A real inspection — roof and attic
We check more than shingle color: flashing at walls and chimneys, valleys, penetrations, ventilation, decking condition, and moisture evidence in the attic. Storm calls get every elevation documented, plus gutters, siding, and windows.
Photos and a plain-English diagnosis
You see dated close-ups of exactly what we found and hear a straight explanation — repair, replace, or keep an eye on it. If a repair buys you real years, we say so. We never push a replacement on a roof that doesn’t need one.
A written, line-item scope
Tear-off, underlayment, ice-and-water shield, flashing, decking allowances, ventilation, materials, permits, cleanup, payment milestones, and warranty — all in writing, so you can compare us to anyone else apples-to-apples.
Permits and scheduling
Roofing needs a Valparaiso building permit; we pull it and handle the code documentation. We order materials, set a start date, and give you a written weather-delay policy so a rainy forecast doesn’t leave you guessing.
Installation done to spec
We protect landscaping, tear off to the deck, correct any bad sheathing (priced and approved in writing first), and rebuild the system to the manufacturer’s pattern so your warranty actually holds.
Cleanup and final walkthrough
We roll magnets across the yard for stray nails, haul the debris, and walk the finished roof with you before we call it done. Then we register your manufacturer warranty in your name.
We’re still here afterward
If a storm claim is involved, we help recover any withheld depreciation. And because we’re a Porter County company, not an out-of-town truck, we’re here to honor the warranty long after the job wraps.
Credentials You Can Verify
We only publish what we can prove — and we’ll hand you the documentation on request.
- General liability insurance coverage
- Workers’ compensation coverage
- Local contractor registration (Valparaiso / Porter County)
- Manufacturer-spec installation with registered warranties
- Indiana deductible-law compliant — never a “free roof” pitch
- Documented, dated job records on every project
Indiana does not issue a statewide roofing trade license. We carry local contractor registration, liability insurance, and workers’ compensation — and we’ll show proof on request.
Why It Matters Who You Hire
A Local Roofer, Not a Storm-Chaser
What happens after a big storm
Every hail or wind event pulls out-of-town crews into Porter County by the truckload. They knock doors, promise “free roofs,” offer to “eat your deductible,” push you to sign on the spot — and they’re gone the week the checks clear. When a seam leaks next winter or the warranty needs honoring, the phone number is disconnected and the company never existed here in the first place.
Two of those pitches — the free roof and the waived deductible — are also illegal in Indiana. An offer that starts with a law being broken isn’t a bargain.
How we do it instead
- A real downtown Valparaiso address you can drive to — not a magnetic sign on a rental truck.
- We document the actual damage and meet your adjuster in person, so the claim is fair and complete.
- Your deductible is disclosed up front and always yours — we never advertise a “free roof.”
- We pull the local permit and provide the code documentation ourselves.
- When you call next year, you reach the same company that put the roof on.

What Being “Insurance-Savvy” Actually Means
A lot of roofs in Northwest Indiana get paid for by a storm claim — but only when the damage is documented the way an adjuster needs to see it. Most homeowners have never filed a roof claim, and that’s exactly where we earn our keep: dated photos of every elevation, an itemized estimate an adjuster can verify, and an on-site meeting so nothing legitimate gets left off the scope.
We also know the guardrails. Indiana law prohibits waiving or absorbing your deductible, so we never advertise a “free roof.” We can explain the difference between RCV and ACV coverage and how recoverable depreciation gets paid back, but the insurer makes the coverage call — our job is to make sure that decision rests on complete, accurate documentation. Learn more about our insurance-claim help.
How we support your claim
- A free storm inspection to see if you have a claim-worthy loss
- Dated, itemized photo documentation of every damaged component
- A written, insurance-ready estimate the adjuster can verify
- On-site presence when your adjuster inspects the roof
- Restoration to the approved scope with a registered warranty
The Road Ahead
Where Anto Roofing Is Headed
We’re new, we’re honest about it, and we’re building for the long haul in Porter County. Here’s what we’re working toward.
Manufacturer certifications
We’re pursuing GAF and Owens Corning certifications so we can offer enhanced system warranties — and we’ll display those badges only once they’re earned.
A real review base
Every job earns an honest review ask — no incentives, no gating. Our goal is a genuine, verifiable reputation built one documented roof at a time.
Deeper local roots
A downtown Valparaiso company that stays. We’re growing our crew and our footprint across Porter County the right way — accountable and here for the warranty.
